My Qualifications

Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Gasfitter A Will be certified with the City of Calgary for pulling permits so everything is done legally and professionally.

I have thought to myself several times while working my secular job that I am happy and proud to have the skills that I have. To be able to handle a project from start to finish and end up with a working piece of equipment is extremely satisfying. While I am always hungry for more knowledge, the HVAC industry is one that is constantly evolving and one that I am passionate about.

My Passion

I wish to use the many skills I have gained over the years to help clients meet their comfort and budgetary needs from someone they can trust completely to carry the job out in the most efficient and less intrusive way possible. I also thoroughly enjoy problem solving, and because of this I can also offer a wide variety of solutions to problems because of my varied and long experience and great communication skills.

My Goal

I have been wanting to start working for myself for a very long time. This year I started to think hard about starting and landed the perfect circumstances with new opportunities. I work full time where my tools are provided for me, therefore I can use my personal tools I have acquired over a 22 year career for a startup business. I also have ready help with both of my teenage son’s who are willing to help and gain knowledge in the HVAC industry, which makes me happy to be able to pass on valuable knowledge and skills to the next generation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I service my furnace or air conditioner?

We recommend a minimum of twice a year. A spring tune-up for your AC and a fall tune-up for your furnace keeps systems running efficiently and helps prevent breakdowns.

  • Furnaces: 15–20 years

  • Air conditioners: 12–15 years

  • Heat pumps: 10–15 years
Regular maintenance can extend these lifespans.

Most homes should replace filters every 1–3 months. If you have pets, allergies, or construction nearby, you may need to change them more often.

System size depends on square footage, insulation, windows, and local climate. A professional load calculation ensures your system isn’t too big (wastes energy) or too small (won’t keep up).

Possible reasons include:

  • Dirty filters or coils

  • Poor insulation or leaky ductwork

  • An aging, inefficient system

  • Incorrect thermostat settings

General rule: If repairs cost more than 30–40% of replacement, or if your system is 10–15 years old, replacement is usually the smarter investment.

Options include:

  • Upgraded air filters (MERV 11–13)

  • Whole-home humidifiers/dehumidifiers

  • UV lights or air purifiers

  • Regular duct cleaning and sealing

  • Summer: 24–26°C (75–78°F) when home; 27–29°C (80–84°F) when away.

  • Winter: 20–22°C (68–72°F) when home; 17–19°C (62–66°F) when away.
Smart thermostats help balance comfort and savings.

Uneven temperatures often come from duct issues, poor airflow, or insulation problems. We can assess and recommend zoning, balancing, or duct modifications.
